my week in review ...

Hmm how do I update like 2 weeks of slackness ...? Ok here's the general blurb ...

Been working lots at first mobile, but wasn't very well last week, so it wasn't much fun. One of those times where everytime I looked at food I felt like throwing up ... and for those who know me well, you know that is soooo unlike me! Even when I'm sick and bedridden I eat like a guy :-) Anyways, Its been work, dance practises, church, the usual ... and I haven't been to the gym for a month, so its remarkable that I seem to have shrunk over that time. Hmm not sure how that works.

So ... some highlights from the last couple of weeks ...
* Had my allergy injections a week ago. Ok so they're not fun, but its another milestone ... every fortnight at the moment.
* Been bugging wingnut films (peter jacksons company) about his films, got hiring dates and filming dates so that I can follow all that up next year for work.
* Went to watch some friends in a karaoke final ... got drunk far too fast with hardly any food on my stomach, and had trouble walking until I forced myself to eat burger king :-)
* Went to Big Boys Toys to look at cars, freestyle motorcross demos, gadgets and stuff with my boyfriend. Although I'm the one who suggested it ... I'm a bit of a tomboy like that.
* Went ice skating ... i'd been having MAJOR withdrawals!
* Went to the Kings Arms to see some bands ... The Glory Sea and The Debeutants (spelling?).
* Got a call from a woman at disney who wants me to come in for an interview next week for a producers assist job for a new disney show.
* Had breakfast with my best friend Eileen who is down in auckland for just a few days to visit. Was really good to see her again!
* Went to Rawlife (its youth group for 18+ age group) at my church, had an awesome time as always. Its church but not as you know it!

So thats me ... I have some exciting news ... anyone in NZ reading this should run out to their nearest video store and get out "Tyrannical Love". Its the first feature film I worked on, and it came out on dvd in NZ just last week. Its at most major video chains, and online dvd rental places. Blockbuster don't have it though ... so if you go near to a blockbuster store, please go in and ask if they have it .... the more people who bug them, the more likely they are to stop being so stubborn about it.

Time to catch up on emails and stuff. If you haven't emailed me for a while, you should do so and say hi ... mary.sandford@gmail.com .... and check out my myspace if you're signed up ... www.myspace.com/littlemissmarz

Ciao!

ElemenoP album release gig

Last night I went to ElemenoP's album release gig for "trouble in paradise". I tell you, if you haven't got it yet, go out and buy it!!! Its a great album. What a night!!! ElemenoP, End of Fashion, and Foamy Ed, all at the best venue for live band gigs ... Studio on Krd. Apart from the 12 year olds and the kids with parents downstairs, it was a really good show, but we had our R18 bar and escape upstairs, so it was all good. And the little kids weren't in the mosh pit so its all good.

Then afterwards I went to the vip room at Crow Bar in town for the afterparty, I'm doing well at working my way into invite only band parties, haha. Had a lot of fun hangin out with Tyson from Steriogram as he carried me down the stairs into the party, tried to kiss me several times (note: "tried" ... but didnt succeed ... haha), and had a great time dancing with the rest of my mates.

Anyway, rewinding to the rest of my week .... Well I've been working, thats not all that exciting really. Tuesday night I visited my friend James in hospital, then hung out with Mikey for a while. We watched police ten7 and one of my stories was on ... always fun to see your name on the tv screen in the credits, hehe. Wednesday I went out to a cafe with a whole lot of mates from dance on. Thursday I can't quite remember, must have stayed home, not sure ... hmm. Friday I went to Rawlife ... its the youth (well ... 18plus age group) from my church... we have the most awesome youth events on friday nights. This week was no exception. Two guys I know Marc (who's the lead singer of a band called Mozelee), and AndyD, came and did an acoustic set. An awesome mix of rock and rap, and mixing the two influences definitely worked for them! They're currently just breaking their way out there ... currently knows just as AndyD I think, but I think they'll be known as "calling elijah" next year .... hmm don't quote me on that yet, but definitely worth keeping an eye out for.

Well thats my week. I've been to auckland hospital every day this week to see my friend James. His lung collapsed, and didn't heal like it was meant to, so they had to operate on him this week :-( It really sux to see someone I care about so much going through that sort of stuff. But he's on the mend now after they've stapled his lung back together, put draining tubes in his side, etc. I won't go into the gorey details (I handle them fine, but apparently some people go queezy ... weak I tell you, you're all weak! haha) . Hopefully he'll be able to go home soon cos hospitals really aren't that exciting. I think I'd go insane if I was in his shoes.

A big week ahead ... work and a job interview ... more on that one later :-)

All Out Sunday!

Ok, so All Out Sunday was on 31st October at my church, and it was AWESOME!!!

Imagine church on a sugar high, haha, well kind of. Its a day we do once a year where the afternoon is filled with free food, a dunking machine, sumo wrestling suits, a blow up boxing ring, a bouncy castle, djs, etc. Then the evening service we have extra stuff such as music items, dance performances, drama, dj sets, etc. Oh and afterwards there's baloons and confetti and stuff.

The dance performance we'd been working so hard for the past few weeks was finally here, and it went amazingly well! One of our team members hurt her back only 2 hours before we were due to go on, so we had to change a few things and re-shuffle people, but its amazing how God just bought it all together. An awesome awesome night!!! Well and truly worth the multitude of practises, sore muscles, bruises, etc. :-)

Such an awesome night to see some really amazing talent up there on stage.
