Balletomania

On Thursday night I did my first ever Ballet class!! Yes you read right, and yes I'm crazy ... I think I need to be ay? Les mills has this new class called Balletomania ... it's basically a ballet class without the bar. I spent an hour doing stuff which my body wasn't designed for ... my feet don't turn out that far, and standing up on my toes isn't a daily exercise for me :-) Part of the class involved doing gallops and leaps across the room, and various other moves.

I think I'll definitely give it another go.

Have to admit though ... it was fun :-) I can really feel my legs and my butt today though!!

Another week of new adventures

Well it's been a week since I finished working on the last film ... it's been pretty busy with doing commercials for Food In A Minute (those little Allyson Gofton recipe ads you see on tv). Had to deal with a huge amount of traffic this last week, I wonder if Auckland will ever get it sorted out??!

Anyway, food in a minute was last week for 3 days, and then this week for another 3. The weekend in between was pretty busy. Friday night bought along the ZM Single Girls Scavenger Hunt. An event which could have been a whole lot more fun if they'd actually given us realistic stuff to do! But it was fun, the parts we did do ... no one was willing to shave off their eyebrows though so there was no way we could win. There were a lot of various costumes, from creative to skanky, and a lot of people looking worse for wear the next day after the party I'd expect. Our team didn't stick around for the party, it looked pretty boring anyway, lol. I went out for coffee then to hang out with a mate in town. Got home at 6.30am after finding my car had been towed and having an early morning walk to go and collect it!

Saturday and Sunday were busy too ... I won't give you the full details but saturday night I did promo work at a huge fireworks and pyro display ... I can't believe we gave out 120,000 glowsticks that night! I got home at errr ... about lunchtime the next day :-) I was in town til 8am, then used the wonderful advantage of having gym showers in town, then went to church. Then home to recover from my weekend of pretty limited sleep, but all worth it ;-)

So all in all, I think I made up for having 5 weeks of no life while we did the film :-)

here's a pic from the scavenger hunt ... cheeky devil and combat girl ...

Wrap party ... another movie finished

Well saturday nite ... sunday morning technically... we finished shooting the latest movie I worked on. It's called Head Cases (well for now, I think its going to be called something different when it comes out on tv thought).

Had an awesome time working on it! But I was well overdue for some decent sleep by the end. Sunday was an action packed day ... I got home from work at 3.30am. Then at 10am I had a mountainbike race, more of an event than a race for me cos I was aiming to complete it, not place. 2 hours and 52 mins of riding up and down hills in riverhead forest. Talk about a killer ride! There was one downhill section too steep and dusty to ride down ... then later in the race they made us go back up it!! It's never hurt so much pushing my bike up a hill!!!

But I did it, and I'm proud that I survived, haha. I got about half an hours sleep before getting ready for our wrap party. For those not in the industry ... a wrap party is a party to celebrate finishing a film ... it usually involves huge amounts of free alcohol on a bar tab, some bands and/or djs ... and a lot of stories that no one wants to get out after the party. This one was no different. But I had fun :-)

I got home at about 4am from that and started work at 12 the next day, a little glazed over apparently, and with slower reactions than usual, but I'm sooo glad I don't get hangovers like most people!

A full on weekend, which was mainly packed into one day, but well worth the night out. :-)
