what a weekend!

I thought it was about time I updated this again. I'm working today ... while most people in Auckland get a 4 day week due to Auckland anniversary day, I'm sittin in the office, and we have a 6 day week. fun fun. You get that in this industry though. Sucker for punishment, haha.

I pulled an all nighter on the weekend, so I slept really well last night. It all started with a 21st, then a reunion rave til 6am, then I met my boyfriend for breakfast at some ridiculous hour of the morning :-) Then it was a day of many things ... spent a bit of time at Simon's work (Simon is my bf ... for those who are stil piecing that bit together, lol), relaxed in the sauna and spa at the gym, went out for coffee, visited the CCUSA camp fair to catch up with some old friends and acquaintances ... then I went and bought a car (well put down a deposit anyway), went to church, and out for dessert after that. Pretty full on weekend! But it'll be my last free one for a while so I had to make the most of it!

I get my new car this week :-) I'm so completely over my current one, it'll be nice to have a change. I'll post photos when I've picked it up.

Why is it that when it rains it pours? Everything always happens at once. I guess that's just life. At least its good stuff that it's raining with at the moment ... lets hope it stays that way for a while. :-)

On another topic ... funny how the title of a movie can give someone such a strong impression ... for example, the movie im working on at the moment is called "wendy wu : homecoming warrio" ... and people just look at me funny when I say it, haha. I have to admit, its very cheesy and very disney, but I think it will be interesting to be involved in.

For those who don't know ... I'm Producers Assist for the movie. So basically I'm working with the producer, the director, and the exec producer. We're filming in 2 and a half weeks so its getting pretty busy there at the moment.

Aside from work which I started back at one monday last week, I've been pretty busy just catching up on life, its been a muddle the last few weeks with everything happening at once, but I'm liking the way its working out :-)

My new years

Ok so i'm a bit late writing this one ... but here it is.

My new years was a little disjointed, but it was still all good :-) I went to a bbq at my friend Lance's house for the beginning of the evening ... ate food and started drinking to bring in the festive season of new years, haha. I left there at about 10.30pm to go to a rave ... "Bring It On" at the civic in town, to dance my way into the new year. I got my new years kiss a little early, due to leaving the party a little early for the rave, from my soon to be boyfriend ... haha, oh well, no harm in stealing a kiss a little early ay!

The rave was a great nite, I was taking photos for worlddj.com aswell, so I was a little busy for part of the nite, but it was a great nite all the same. I stumbled in the door at about lunchtime after falling asleep at my friend Pauls place in the very early hours of the morning (about 6am).

Christmas in review

Well I started my christmas holiday at the end of a busy day of work on the 21st december. I went straight from work to the airport to head down south. I spent a couple of nights in christchurch ... first night meeting up with my friend Todd and staying at his place, then shopping all the next day (doing my christmas shopping, yeah last minute i know), then it turned out I needed to stay in christchurch another night (I'd miscalculated times for when my mum and bro were arriving). So I caught up with my friend Shane and his flatmates/friends ... and we went to an awesome rave called Hed Kandi. It was awesome! Me, Shane, Carlos, Ari, and Lauren all hit town for a good 5 or 6 hours, and went home thoroughly exhausted!

Then I headed to ashburton with mum and my brother Dave the next day for the good old family christmas. I spent a decent amount of time in the spa pool at the house, and finally got into the pool on the 2nd to last day (it was cold!), and ate huge amounts of food, as you always do at christmas :-) All up there were 17 of us there for christmas day ... 15 of us staying at the one house ... so it was quite a decent size gathering. Even through all the insanity and drinking and hyperactivity of christmas, its great to get family together :-)

Christmas presents ... lots of chocolate, a giant candy cane, the King Kong production diaries collectors set on dvd :-) , a mirrorball and light set, OpShop cd (bought with my vouchers), a photo frame, bodybutter, bath bomb fizz things. So I did kinda ok ay.

But its not about the presents ... they're just a treat to top off the day. Its all part of celebrating the birthday of the one person who makes the huge difference in my life ... Jesus. happy birthday!
