tired ... but here i am

Quick one today ... cos I'm tired :-( getting old and need my sleep, haha.

I'm off to Ashburton (in the south island for you foreigners reading this) on wednesday with my family. I'm flying down, they're driving, but I'll come back up in the car with them. I have work on wednesday so driving down with them isn't really an option. So I'm going to christchurch for the night, staying with my friend Todd (my ex from like 9 years ago, haha). Then I'm going to ashburton the next day when mum and dave drive through. I'll be away just over a week. I'll be back in time for new years, cos there's no way I'm doing new years in a little hick town :-) No idea what my new years plans are yet, cos my original ones have backfired, but there's heaps to do, so something will work out.

Speaking of work ... its been busy winding down to the holiday season. Things are going to be very very busy next year when we come back, but I'm looking forward to it! just means less time muckin around on email and myspace.com during work time .... oops.

Today I started work bright and early at 8am, then tonight I went out for coffee with a new friend ... or "friend" ... hmm not sure just yet. Definitely worth seeing again though I'd say ;-) Then I did some of my christmas shopping, so its been a busy day! And on that note, I'm going to bed. Time for my beauty sleep so I can get up bright and early at 6am tomorrow. Have a good christmas if I don't see you, talk to you, etc before then. Merry Christmas, and remember the reason for the season. Christmas isn't just about santa and gifts.

This week

Well its been a busy one, story of my life I guess, haha.
I've just finished the 2nd week at my new job, and had many dance practises as we had a performance this weekend (one last nite, and 2 tomorrow). On top of that I also caught up with my friend Todd for dessert at Denny's on thursday, was good to catch up with him, although both of us were exhausted.

Today I worked on a music video for a band called Quarter2, they're an awesome band in my eyes, they just have that whole "you guys just seem to click" feel to them. Anyways, the shoot was long but went really well, and I met a lot of new people. I was out in the sun all day and have the sunburn to prove it!

Arrgh I'm too tired to type. Its only 11.30 on a saturday night and I think I'm going to bed real soon! I'm just totally shattered!

I've decided public transport sux in this country! My car decided to break lat nite ... just typical when I had the music video shoot today. So I waited at a bus stop for an hour for a bus, then caught 2 buses, then borrowed a friends car for the day. What a mission! I dont know how I didn't go completely insane without a car all those years. I guess I didn't know better.

Anyways, I think I might go to bed now. Or go get a coffee and go out to a party. Still deciding which one to do. :-)

i climb out of the hole and back to earth

yeah i've kinda been really busy and really not busy all at once. I just realised its been 3 weeks since I was on here, that's really bad.

What's been happening in my world ...? I went to Foo Fighters last week!!! They were awesome! Although I'd like to be taller so I can see properly, but oh well.

Aside from that, a lot has happened on the job front ...
I'm no longer at first mobile selling mobile phones, I finished there the other day, so now I have to pay my own phone bills, haha. I'm now working for Rubicon Films and the Disney Channel on a new disney channel movie that's filming here in January. My job is Producers Assist, which means I liase directly with the producer, the director, and the american exec producer when he comes over. Its an awesome opportunity!!! Nice to have a feature film that pays me, unlike the last two that I did for experience, and these guys even apologised heaps for the low pay, low budget etc, but I'm getting almost twice what I was getting in my 4 day a week job at first mobile, so I'm happy :-) Low budget crap pay for Disney is rather nice in my books, can't wait for a film that pays "normal rates" !
The film is called "Wendy Wu : Homecoming Warrior" ... its a wierd title ay, but the script looks pretty good.

I'm working on the film til mid march, the driving of at least an hour to work in the morning isn't fun, but no point moving house when its only a few months. Plus its kinda fun listening to cds, and even starting to learn Afrikaans (south african native language) by listening to cds on the way. Its only part of it, cos I've got to learn the basics before that cd makes sense, but listening to it helps me pick up things. So at least I'm using my time constructively :-)

I'll still be doing the odd bits and pieces of promo work in between, and trying to get some music video experience on my weekends.

I'm going away for Christmas, to Ashburton (in the south island for you foreigners). Mum and my brother Dave are driving and catching the ferry, and I'm flying down (cos i finish work too late to go with them). So I'll be down there from a couple of days before christmas, til a few days after probably. Need to book flights soon!

Time for bed. I'm a bit of a nana as far as bedtime goes at the moment, my new job hours are really taking it out of me! Plus I have a work party for Screentime (the company I do police ten 7 for) tomorrow ... gonna be a good nite!
